Travel and Restaurant Guides


Carolyn's new book, Living Abroad in Canada, a first-edition travel and relocation guide from Avalon Travel Publishing, will be on the shelves in Fall 2008.

A full-time freelance writer and editor since 1996, Carolyn has contributed to nearly 50 travel and restaurant guides to destinations from Asia to New England to the Pacific Northwest. Recent credits include:

  • Contributing author of Lonely Planet's China guide
  • Co-editor of the Zagat Survey's Best of Vancouver guide, covering Vancouver, Victoria, and Whistler
  • Consulting editor, Zagat Beijing and Hong Kong guides
  • Writer of a new Vancouver destination guide online at SmarterTravel.com
  • Contributing author of Moon Metro Vancouver from Avalon Travel Publishing
  • Contributing author of Best Places Northwest from Sasquatch Books.

    Carolyn previously wrote three editions of the Zagat Boston Restaurants guide, covering more than 1000 places to eat in Boston, Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket. She is also a long-standing contributor to the Fodor's Travel Guides.
